Moustachioed Musician -
November 13th, 2009
Dolly has her boobs, Ringo has his nose, and Frank had his thick imperial-style soup strainer and soul patch. Yes, today’s moustachioed man of Movember is none other than legendary artist, musician, and iconoclast, Frank Zappa. A wicked satirist and fretboard virtuoso, the dude challenged the mainstream with his absurdist lyrics and whacked-out musical arrangements. A staunch supporter of free speech, he railed against the hypocrisy he saw in politics and organized religion. He also wrote, produced, and acted in film and television. All this and he still found time to pen such pop music classics as “Titties and Beer” and “Don’t Eat the Yellow Snow.”

Age of Frank’s daughter, Moon Unit, when she recorded the slang voice-overs in her father’s song “Valley Girl.” The 1982 song was the biggest hit in Zappa’s career, peaking at #32 on the Billboard chart. In typical Zappa fashion, he hated the track and never played it live. |

Take the Kama Sutra. How many people died from the Kama Sutra, as opposed to the Bible? Who wins?
