Some landmarks are so woven into the fabric of a city, state, or country that to eradicate them would be to eliminate a central part of that locale’s identity. Imagine Paris without the Eiffel Tower, New York City without the Statue of Liberty, or Seaside Heights, NJ without the shore house where JWoww perused Pauly D’s pierced chicksicle.
Conservationists in LA are trying to raise $12.5M to purchase the land around the Hollywood sign to keep it from being blocked by the possible construction of mansions by developers.
Blocking the Hollywood sign? Are they crazy? That’s like clothing a Playboy centerfold … unthinkable!

Ironically, two days after her death, a letter from the Beverly Hills Playhouse arrived offering her the lead role in a play about a woman driven to suicide.
