Kraft Dinner -
July 15th, 2010
Hot, gooey, and fun to eat, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese has long been a fundamental food in kitchen cupboards across the USA.
Launched by Kraft in 1937, the cost-effective comfort food became a hit due to World War II rationing. A divine culinary creation, Kraft Dinner is a no-brainer for busy parents who want to whip up something fast for the kids, and a gastronomic gift from the gods for college students, following some hearty bong rips.
Today, macaroni and cheese is a hip playland for chefs to giddily explore and put their whacked out signature on. While, no doubt, many high-end variations are good, for our money give us the orange powdered cheese with the dry macaroni in the blue box. Sometimes the perfection of a dish is in its simplicity.

Bless this highly nutritious microwavable macaroni and cheese dinner and the people that sold it on sale. Amen.

Returning to the US after his tour as minister to France in 1787, Thomas Jefferson brought back a pasta machine from Italy. Documents in the Library of Congress quote a guest of Jefferson discussing a "pie called macaroni." The description of the dish is the same as baked macaroni and cheese today.
