Thinking About … Bourbon

  • Pepperlex3

Bourbon County, Kentucky, couldn’t get much wetter, or it would drown. I have had many a strong drink there. One Halloween night at a fine establishment on the main street, I danced with Hitler. Seriously. Or maybe it was just the costume. Anyway, they never bothered to have distilleries because they were too busy raisin’ Thoroughbreds.

    Canadian Whiskey, please.

  • Chris@TTP

We stand corrected Pepperlex 3. Meant to say no Bourbon distilleries exist in the county today. Over shot it a bit. Thanks for the heads up.

I prefer to think of it as Momma’s Kentucky medicine :)

I live in Tennessee less than 1 hour from the Jack Daniels distillery. Here in Tennessee we call Jack Daniels “The local Recipe”. Nobody drinks Kentucky bourbon in Tennessee!

I you like bourbon, you should try Bulleit…it’s an “authentic frontier style American whiskey”…an excellent dram.

I just bought myself a bottle of four roses single barrel for x-mas and I’m going to enjoy it !

  • Kgrindro

Do the bourbon trail! It’s awesome!

    Bookers, Bookers and more Bookers!

Walk in any TN liquor store and there’s a wall full of bourbon, just like in any KY liquor store there’s a healthy display of Jack. It’s all good.

Bocephus is a legendary bourbon drinker and unfortunately, I was banned from it in the late 80′s by my bride. Right now I am drinking a Goose Island – Bourbon County Brand Stout which is Awesome and is the closest thing I’ve come to actual Bourbon since my banning.

It’s beautiful, sightly sweet…but not a patch on Jameson’s or Powers Irish Whiskey, now we are talking top shelf, tears of the Gods…xox

  • Larry Dineen

I meant Slightly Sweet, Beautiful, but Jameson and Powers still hold the edge, and I am an old whiskey Man…Bourbon is unique Loveable, but to get the real taste you have to go Irish…
