Thinking About … Darrell Hammond

Knowing very little about this man, I tended to take his talent for granted.u00a0 After reading TP today, I am convinced thatu00a0many of usu00a0take far too much for granted.u00a0 By all rights, this man should be, at best, a blittering idiot.u00a0 At worst, a serial killer.u00a0 From now on, I will look at his roles on SNL in an entirely different manner.u00a0 Thanks, TP for sharing this today.u00a0 You remain at the top of the “controversial web sites!”u00a0 I don’t always appreciate your commentary, and certainly don’t always agree with you.u00a0 But enjoy you……ABSOLUTELY! You have some “real thinkers” on your limited staff.u00a0 By the way, as a Veteran, Iu00a0wish youu00a0all a peaceful Memorial Day.u00a0

Darrelll had the best stand-up routine in the WORLD.u00a0 But, he probably should have kept quiet about this.u00a0 While confession can be cathartic, itu00a0mightu00a0look like he needed the money & attention, since he had played out on SNL, and I’m sure he doesn’t want to go back outu00a0 on the road.nnParenthood should be licensed, and most applicants should be refused.

The power a parent has over a childu00a0can be a terrible thing when abuse is involved.u00a0The fact of the matter is that Darrell Hammond is the most brilliant SNL player I’ve ever seen. I started watching the second season at the age of 11. I’m 46 and have rarely ever missed a show. His ability, medicated or not, shows that he’s tougher than his circumstances and proves that he is able to get control of his life. I wish him nothing but the best and hope he can realize that hurting himselfu00a0doesn’t do anything to his mother. It only hurts him.u00a0

No, I thank you for putting up with me.u00a0 As I have said before, much of what I say is only intended to generate discussion.u00a0 I damn sure don’t expect everyone to think as I do, nor to agree with me.u00a0 The opinions of others may tick me off at times, but they alsou00a0make me stop and think.u00a0 That basic freedom (and I hate sounding corny) is part of what makes this Country what it is (right now that is not too damn great!!).u00a0 But we are all fortunate, because it could be a hell of a lot worse!!!u00a0 I hope your weekend was as good as mine….it was memorable.
