Thinking About … Dennis Hopper

Dennis Hopper was an amazingly talented and tortured artist in every right. The world was forever changed by his visions (probably drug induced) and work. He will be missed.

You neglected to mention his last great effort – to cut his evil gold-digging ex-wife out of the will, except for child support.

Recently, I've seen his performances in “Giant” , “Rebel Without a Cause” and other early works on TMC. Not bad, really. As I watched those movies I couldn't help but wonder what he was like on the nights after the shooting; how he behaved back then. When did he really become an “out of control party animal”? Maybe there is or will be more biographical material on him now he's he's passed on.

    what a loss….brilliant and powerful

  • Eve

You said it, but it is worth shouting THEY JUST DON'T MAKE THEM LIKE THEY USED TO!!!!! SO LONG DH!

  • Katie

Dennis was a great actor. I had no idea he was so versatile in other creative fields. He will be missed.

  • Rhonda

I really didn't like Hopper when I was growing up but learned to love him later. It's sad…his passing. He will be missed.

Only a badass such as Dennis Hopper could do crap movies like “Meet the Deedles”, “Waterworld”, “Space Truckers” and “Speed” and get away with it. (those movies would have sucked sooo much more without his talents) Makes me realize that he is a guy like us… sometimes you gotta take a crap job to pay the bills. At least he will be remembered instead for cinematic jewels such as”Rebel Without a Cause”, “Cool Hand Luke”, “Easy Rider” and “True Grit”. Rest in Peace Dennis Hopper.
