Thinking About … Diet Coke

Guess I should switch back to the sugary shit, then. I mean, hell…At least Type II Diabetes is manageable through lifestyle changes. But a stroke? That’s an acute, sudden game-changer that leaves you with reduced cognitive and motor function, but only if you’re “lucky” enough to actually survive it in the first place. nnFact is, I’ve spent my entire life honing my brain, but I’ve treated my body like an amusement park. If it comes down to a choice of risking either one or the other, then frankly…that’s no choice at all.

“Diet Coke does not use any part of the Coca-Cola recipe, but instead is an entirely different formula.” nnGreat sentence. If it does not use any part of the Coke formula then it has to be an entirely different formula!!nnHow about this sentence:nn”She had no clothes on and she was totally naked.”

I will be 93 this April, am #2 diabetic, will continue to enjoy diet coke, as I enjoy my new 2011 Camero!!

ya gotta hand it to Monsanto for their comprehensive implementation of “blackmailing whores” to “proactively effect” favourable PR “optics” from the MSA, USDA, and other “bodies of influence” concerning aspartame. If I had kids, they could shotgun DC all they want, knowing that yet another cultural trend is comfortably in place.

Not true Ivan. nnA recipe is a list of ingredients. A formula is the chemistry or way those ingredients are mixed. How about this sentence:nnYou can be a dick, but not a dick bag.

Coke has got to be the grossest tasting shit ever invented. nI have been a diet soda drinker for over 35 yrs, started back in the day when Tab was just about the only diet choice out there. nI drink diet because I can’t stand the icky sugary coating regular leaves in my mouth.nIf I go for a brand name its Diet Pepsi or Pepsi MAX. nAnd I can tell the difference between Pepsi and Coke in a taste test.nI’m not going to worry about a stroke, I probably should but what the hell, life is short no matter what you do.

Artificial sweeteners give me severe headaches, so I don’t drink diet soda. I used to drink Coke and Vanilla Coke like John Daly in the story does with Diet. After radiation treatments in 2007 (cancer in my jaw) my tastes changed and I have not touched a soda since. I’ve managed to keep off much of that soda weight, too.nnI find it interesting, though, that sodas use “formulas” rather than recipes…chemistry FTW! ;)

Jealous of my potential child-rearing savvy? Understandable. The Diet Coke-Mentos bomb, btw, was such a let-down – I was hoping for something, more……..explosive?
