If the possibility of “no god” then all is a bunch of baloney, u00a0if persons did believe there would be no one even squeeking off doing anything to offend anyone. u00a0No scare tactics, u00a0that are by the way, a form of u00a0communist brainwashing techniques. u00a0That type of introduction is uncalled for .u00a0nI love Halloween and the costumes….. I do not care for simple minded people that are on the brink of insanity with fear of anything that is not on a plate before them. u00a0Or silly thoughts of why different people and beliefs are so dangerous.nLove, u00a0life changes and u00a0cultures u00a0as long as they are not socialpathic u00a0indoctrinated. u00a0″ Wear condoms and plant trees, no one was to suffer, these are the lands of plenty.”

I don’t think there is anything wrong with being religious, per se. What I have trouble with is when they try to convert everyone to their “true’ religion, although I think that most religions teach that we must “save” those that have “lost their way.”nnMy opinion is that if everyone would just act properly, follow the 10 Commandments, if you will, we would all be a lot better off. After all, the commandments are really just the things that good people would not do. Don’t lie, cheat, steal, kill, etc. Treat others as you would wish to be treated, and no problems, everyone gets along. nnI would like to think that there would be some kind of punishment, Hell, if you will, for murderers, rapists, child molesters, thiefs, and the like. And have some kind of proof of it, to show the bottom feeders that what they are doing is wrong, and will bring them no good in the end. But I do not buy into the teaching of the Catholic Church, that if one repents in the end they will still be saved.

Thank you for being the voice of reason.u00a0 Not enough people support the use of condoms while planting trees.u00a0 Please people…this year, celebrate Arbor Day safely!!u00a0 Kathleen is right; practice safe gardening…use a condom.u00a0 Do your part to help stop the spreading of STD’s…like, Syphilis…or Dutch Elm Disease.u00a0 nnRemember what Woody the Safe-Sex Shrub says: “Good advice to always heed…wrap your stem as you plant your seed.”

I grew up in a fundamentalist church, similar to the ones described in this article. In fact, Keenan Roberts (inventor of Hell House, mentioned in the CNN religion blog) was my pastor’s son. I was one of the actors in these horrific and terrifying alternatives to haunted houses, and I can definitely confirm that there is an excitement or weird sort of glee in portraying these “sinners.” Really, the scariest part is self-righteousness of those involved. Rooms full of people excited about the prospect of people going to hell because they didn’t listen to you… pastors who could give a sh*t about the poor, but talk at length about salvation… I get the shivers just thinking about it. They should make that into a halloween event. It’s way more accurate.

You have no idea how scarey it is living in the south and being a liberal. There are more churches than people. The problem is they are serious.

” Really, the scariest part is self-righteousness of those involved.”nnAs someone raised in an Apostolic Pentecostal church, I agree 100% with you.
