Thinking About … Hacky Sack

I still have a sac in memory of my many years of hack at Grateful Dead parking lot parties and various and sundry parks.

Saw a young couple (a chick and a dude in case you were wondering) playing hacky-sack on the plaza in Arcata the other day…they were pretty good too.

I used to play at camp every year…would get good at it and then forget about it until the next summer…those were the days…playing with that little yellow ball…
    lol.

uncool, but a guilty pleasure for many…good exercise too, I suppose but so is dodging traffic in NYC but less thrilling. Don't do it in public. Stay in the back yard or close your garage doors, plug in your ipod and kick.

Good ol hackey sack. While I never was any good at it, I always managed to have a good time. Its a good way to goof off outside, playing in the shade with some beer, some smoke and some Greatful Dead. It was something to do while the charcoal got ready for the steaks and it kept us occupied, especially when the cornhole boards were at someone else's house.

At our school, it was the cool kids who hacky sacked… maybe not the jocks but like people that were into surfing and those who hung out with that crowd… of course we were in Central Florida.
