Thinking About … House MD

House. Learn medical terminology and look at hot wenches.

House is an interesting series, but not the best by a long shot…

The character Greg House is quite possibly the best ever created for television. Decades from now this show will still hold up. The stories are often outlandish, but it works when coupled with House's tortured, brilliant, hilarious psyche. LOVE it.

As for the pathetic little whiner– I wish I had the opportunity to go out and play with the cast… suing the company?? I'm sure they pick on him because he's a judgemental, sanctimonious ass, not because he won't participate. Karma will make him pay for his petty ways.

The “Green Wing” series is much better and made in England.. So America, BUY BRITISH….

It's a great show, I didn't like the concept, but after watching it, I love it! I think having a weirdly flawed central character makes it more interesting, it kind of sits between comedy, hospital drama and CSI type detective show. Love it! Hugh Laurie has always been great, he is amazing in House.

It's a dumb show, like the rest out there.

One of the five best series ever on TV. Reruns are as good to watch as the first time. The show holds up where many others fail. Smart, clever dialogue and plot twists. I love seeing the lead have serious character flaws and having to deal with them. Imperfect like “everyman.” Relationships of doctor to doctor or patient to doctor can be multilayer, complex and revealing. This show has something to teach and plenty to learn for the viewers. I watch House like others watch Idol. I am so glad it was made, picked up and continued. I hope they continue for years more. It will be as sad when House ends as it was with Deadwood.

I've told my wife that if I ever get sick PLEASE don't take me to that hospital — with every test they run, and every drug they give, the patients take some horrific turn for the worse. And always just in time for a commercial. Seriously though, the show has become way too predictable: The patient-to-be falls ill in some odd way, cue opening credits, followed by the aforementioned series of tests/drugs with the patient getting closer and closer to death. Then, in the last three minutes, someone says something that triggers the “aha!” moment for House and the patient is miraculously cured. Frankly the antics of the lead character are getting annoying and tiresome. Suggestion: rename the show “This Old House.”

Christina, Hugh Laurie is British, so it looks like America just bought British…

As for the show- I love it, but at the same time, the more I watch it the more I realize how stupid it is and how ridiculous the characters are. Seriously? The person who runs the hospital is at the free clinic handing out the files and telling the hospital's best doctor “you have a patient waiting for you in exam room 1″?.. There's only one cancer doctor in the entire hospital, or all the cases go to the best one immediately? No other doctor before House and his team could figure out what the patient has, and yet- always, for a decent part of each episode, it's either Lupus or Cushing or Sarcoidosis or Amyloidosis, and then it's cancer, and then it's not, and then it's cancer again, and then it's not again, and then they bounce between “It's autoimmune!” “It's an infection!” “No! It's environmental!” “No! His wife doesn't have it, so it must be neurological!!!”. And how come each and every time when they're not sure which of two illnesses the patient has, if they treat for one and it's the other he will most certainly die? That can be interesting every now and then, but every single episode? Puh-leeeaaase!!!!

Really, I like the show, I always watch it, I just don't take it as seriously as I used to… :-)
