it upsets me that Irvin Kershner, director of The Empire Strikes Back died a day after Nielsen, and his heath will be overshadowed. just as Groucho Marx’s death was overshadowed by Elvis Presleys

When ever I think of Leslie Nielsen, I can’t help but remember Commander J.J. Adams of the C57D space cruiser. Mr. Nielsen should have done a spoof on his movie “Forbidden Planet’!

What is it?nRumack: It’s a big building with patients, but that’s not important right now.nnI’ve always loved how is dead-pan delivery can be soooo hilarious. Mr. Nielsen, you will be missed.

Nielsen, cousin to Jean Hersholt of Dr. Christian radio and film fame, and whose name graces the Academy Awards’ Humanitarian Award, graduated high school here in Edmonton. Moves are on to name our theatre arts high after him, and perhaps a street intersecting with Arthur Hiller Road, named for the director. Neither connects to Wayne Gretzky Drive, alas. A great Canadian Hollywood star.
