My parents would give my siblings and I this game when they wanted us to shut up…it totally backfired as we would fight about everything and they would gang up on me. And they wonder today why I am a sore looser…

Monopoly? No thanks, I would much rather watch paint dry, instead… (paint drying takes a lot less time than a Monopoly game). The game came out in the depression, when one had nothing but time, due to the economy then. Come to think of it, maybe the game is making a comeback, with all the people out of work these days?n BTW, I wonder how many different editions of the dang game have been cranked out over the years.

Now then, Scam was a game! It was the 60′s-70′s drug-dealing monopoly game that could go on for days, or even weeks when finals interrupted. It came with a roll-up “board” that had a spinner arrow in the middle, a maze of maps, and tiny dice that, when and if you imbibed for real any of what you were buying and selling in the game, would disappear right before your eyes on the cluttered board. The rules seemed straight forward until you had make up your own, which was encouraged. Waaay better than dealing real estate!
