Thinking About… Pro Wrestling

We are are always curious to know what kind of interest or life experience our readers have with the subject matter of each piece. These short "yes/no/don't care" surveys are a fun way to see how our readers feel about what is going on in the world around them. If you think we missed a question, feel free to ask the community a question as well.

Thinking About… Pro Wrestling

What else are we thinking about?

What’s the difference between pro-wrestling and being a high profile politician (i.e. congress, president, etc)? They both rely on lies and faking it to get through each “crisis”, and they have no qualms about taking your money, as part of the game. If you really observe their tactics, you will notice very little difference in the two “professions”.

6/24/07 WWE wrestler Chris Benoit killed his wife, strangeled his 7 year olf son then hung himself. Steroid monkey. Vince McMann in the aftermath of the tradgedy lost millions as the value of WWE stock plummeted with the realization
of how the WWE encourages the chemical creation of out sized beasts for our
temporal entertainment. Look at how Hulk Hogan walks! Hip replaced, knee
surgery, injections in the lower back just to function.
All for the glory and amusement of morbidly obese children.

Professional wrestling as portrayed on television isstupid.

looky heah- my son benches 390lbs-squats, 700lbs and he’s only 20 yrs old. he’s big- 6’2″, 255lbs and obviously super strong. if his football career stagnates and he wanted to give wrasslin’ a go- i’d encourage him. Sean has a personality to get fan support, and he can legit -choke slam a man. if he could go 7 or 8 yrs on the circuit- he could retire. plus- he’s an actor, he’d get a real thrill out of bouncing around the ring with men like triple H, kane and the rest of those mamalukes!

The only time I’ve ever watched professional wrestling with any regularity was about 13 years ago. My boyfriend at the time was addicted. Watching pro wrestling was like watching a car wreck. I wanted to look away, but was fascinated at the same time. Just goes to show, you’ll do just about anything when you’re getting laid…uh, I mean when you’re in love.

I think that pro-wrestling is a true artform and is not respected the way it should be. I do not agree with the steroids and pain medicine and scandals that occur in the business. But I do love the athleticism and talent that is involved in the wrestling world. I think the general population views wrestling as white-trash and as a joke. I wish that people could see what talent these men have and how much passion they have to entertain their fans.

Pro-wreslting, really? Honestly, who cares about bad acting, steriods and people cutting themselves? If I wanted that kind of action, I’d visit the set of the newest LiLo film. With things like the Stanley Cup playoffs starting, its time pro wrestling was put down for the count.
