Thinking About … Tall Bikers

I dont have a problem with cyclists that are using streets with bike lanes, as long as they use proper signals and stop at intersections as autos do.rnBut, why must these asshats ride in the street, during rush hour, slowing down traffic that is already too slow. I always take a moment to give them the one finger salute, when needed!

Whoa – I thought bike riders had to obey traffic signs!!!!nThis guy gives bike riders a bad name.

As a dyed-in-the-wool Darwinite, I strongly encourage tall bikers, and wish they would start and perform at the earliest age possible,m preferably before puberty.

Cyclists should be able to use city streets even if there is no bike lane. Are you saying that if all the people on bikes drove cars instead then rush hour would be less congested?nnI agree that cyclists need to use proper signals etc. but the drivers of cars need to do the same.

I can’t agree with you enough. Too few motorists use their turn signals and too many go from lane to lane in an unsafe manner. Cyclists do have to obey the laws of the road. So do motorists. I don’t own or ride a bicycle, but I do own and drive a car. On the road, all people should be following the same laws.

I guess it matters where and when they choose to ride. I live in the suburbs where the speed limit is 45-55 mph with not many bike lanes. To be cruising along at 55 mph with moderate to heavy traffic and suddenly there is a bicycle in the street… that is not wise, even if it is legal. When traffic is moderate to heavy in the morning you cant see a bicycle until it is too late! Each car has to swerve around them as they see them… I am surprised that more dont get hit! For putting motorists at risk of being in an accident, they get the finger!

Motorists like you get the finger right back.nnPeople that ride bikes as their primary form of transportation need to get where they’re going too. Check your local laws, I guarantee that cyclists are afforded most of the same rights as motorists. It’s only ignorant folks like you that create a problem.

Former neighbor had a seven level tall bike. It was kind of crazy cool/stupid. Still, he got lots of attention.
