Thinking About … Turtlenecks

If you bathe daily and know how to use soap then there isn’t a problem with not being circumcised.

I just knew we should have stopped government intrusion when TSA started to get too personal, now they want to go even further. Walking through airports naked is frowned upon, but only because the government didn’t tell you to. Might as well change the name to united states of simon says, then we can just become a nation of sheep. A note to uncle sam, KEEP YOUR HANDS OUT OF MY PANTS.

Clearly unconstitutional. You know, separation of church and state. Circumcision is a prescribed ritual for some religions.

  • Director’s Cut

I’ll begrudgingly respect the bizarre and antiquated rituals of the religious only so far as they don’t bring harm or pain to others. The facile and supposedly medical arguments in favor of circumcision have been so thoroughly debunked that they’re hardly even worth mentioning. The argument against: preventing a brutal, painful, and wholly unnecessary mutilation of a newborn male’s genitals. The rationalization that they supposedly won’t remember the trauma is tantamount to saying that it’s okay to murder or torture someone as long as no one sees you do it. The only reason that some narrow-minded folks still have issues with the appearance of a natural and intact penis is simply because they’ve become socialized to think in this bizarre and backward fashion. The sooner this obscene and antiquated practice is outlawed, the better.

  • tiredofObama

My body, my right. Get out of my pocket!

  • Director’s Cut

Well, the bible condones slavery. I do seem to recall that being made illegal at some point.

  • Director’s Cut

Um, actually no…it’s the bodies of male children. And I really fail to see how your pocket enters into the equation.

As a woman, and at the risk of sounding misandrous, I have to say that for all of the physical pain that we have to go through just by virtue of our sex, a little snip, snip pales in comparison. Having said that, I have had “experience” with both “altered” and “unaltered”. And while one is nicer to look at, the other is easier to work with…

  • Kelly

As a woman, I feel like I probably should stay out of this, but since my boyfriend of the last 16 years is un-circumsized, I feel I have to say something. I love his foreskin and feel so sorry for anyone who has lost theirs. There are so many things that are easier to do with foreskin than without.

  • yankeepizzabaker

Yeah, right dipshit. And if you bath a Komodo dragon with Dial and make him gargle with Listerine his bite won’t harm you. Yep, all the unclipped are lining up outside your house right now to learn better hygiene. Say hello to all your fellow San Franciscans…..and remember to vote for Obama again.

  • yankeepizzabaker

Oh, you are so correct. Several of San Francisco’s most popular dishes were once garnished with foreskins. And just when did you undergo your sex change?

  • yankeepizzabaker

I agree with your simple comment. Unlike the last few that I just read. You are correct….it is your right…….and that puts it all in perspective. The last two comments I responded to were intended to keep the “wolves at bay.” I also am tired of Obama and I like your “pen name.”

  • yankeepizzabaker

Oh give me a break! I’ll bet you still have your tonsils too……hanging right off the end of your “headless horseman.” The next time you are wacking off in your parent’s bedroom……get your magnifying glass, and a toothpick and clean yourself up!

  • Crazy

The argument by some, “so he can look like his dad” is lame. How many guys know what their dads dick looks like?nReligious reasons? If it is part of your religion, so be it.nTo “look like the other boys”, I would worry about the other boy who is checking out my sons dick.nnHave you ever been in a drs. office and listened to a tiny baby boy screaming bloody murder as he is strapped down to the board and being circumcised? And yes, I do mean screaming, not just crying.nI have and it thoroughly convinced me it was wrong and I did not have it done to my son.nHe was taught to properly wash himself.nnWomen can have odors and such too but that doesn’t mean we should practice female circumcision. nYou teach girls to wash themselves properly.nI bet most guys wouldn’t be so hot to bang anything in a skirt if they had no lower lips.nnYou should have control over what happens to your body.

  • beltwaymama

I’m not a proponent of circumcision. I’m having a baby in two months and we’ve decided not to do it – even though all the adults in our family had it done to them. But I find it strange that we’d pass a law that doesn’t allow people to CHOOSE whether or not to let a piece of skin live on the end of their kinds winkie but we do let them choose whether or not to let the child itself live or die (abortion). I think this foreskin issue is more easily resolved with education. Several medical societies have already declared it unnecessary. And this practice is hugely on the decline as is.

  • jewboy supreme

after reading all the posts I must say that I truly hope the big one hits San Francisco and knocks it into the ocean. what a bunch of ass-wipers, or worse. Jewish!!!! Nuff said

  • Wizkid

Neither pro nor con ad hominem is appropriate; nor is it helpful. Speaking as one who is circumcised, you do not remember it. Neither of my sons seemed to be in any discomfort when they were circumcised and that was nearly 30 years ago, when they were practically using stone tools. Neither of them remember it. Both of them, having seen uncircumcised friends with infections and other problems have stated emphatically that they plan on having their sons (should they have any) circumcised as well. It is neither bizarre, antiquated, brutal, all that painful, nor narrow-minded. It seems that Director’s cut’s rant demonstrates who is really narrow-minded. If you don’t like it, don’t do it to your children. I hope you instruct them WELL in hygeine so that they never have to have an adult circumcision; that really IS painful!

  • Wizkid

Well said. It seems bizarre to me that no one seems to complain when in malls you can watch a mother pierce the ears, nose, and eyebrow of a 3-month-old, but they scream bloody murder if for religious or practical reasons you want to perform a 4,000 year old medical procedure.

  • Wizkid

It seems to me that you should find a new doctor!!! I was present for both my boys’ circumcision, and neither of them even whimpered a little. They didn’t even seem to notice . . . beyond the obvious breeze that makes baby boys “baptize” whoever is changing them.

  • Wizkid

As far as I can tell, the only way our pocket comes into the equation is that the government is spending money on trying to legislate anything, much less enforcement.

  • Wizkid

“The Bible condones slavery.” n Interesting conclusion. It does MENTION slavery, and slaves. Don’t you find it interesting that the anti-slavery movements in virtually all the Western Hemisphere were started and championed by Christians who came to the exact opposite conclusion? If you can’t understand a book that was written for adults, it might be best not to discuss it.

  • the scotsman

I think circumcision is barbaric, performed on a person who has absolutely no say in the matter. Millions of men throughout history have lived with an intact penis and not suffered any ill effects. Give the lad a choice when he’s old enough to reason and I’ll bet he will vote to keep his foreskin. There should also not be any laws regarding this at all, it should be a personal decision, just like getting a tattoo or piercing. I was lucky in that the doctor who clipped me left me enough to stretch back to NORMAL. My foreskin is restored and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • yankeepizzabaker

Without my sarcasm and wit….you have admirably addressed this issue. Kudos.

  • yankeepizzabaker

Wiz……you and your witch doctors need to understand one thing…there is a big difference between an African ritual involving a preteen girl, and the parents of a new born male being raised in modern society. The parents who want to spare their child of everything from chronic infections to Zipper snags have a right to protect their child. Just exactly like they did when having their child receive vaccines. Female circumcisions in Africa are a hell of a lot different than clinical/hospital circumcisions. You raise your son as you see fit. But for you, or the others in this blog, to want to intervene in a medical procedure that CAN, and often does, prevent problems later in life….well, do as you see fit…..don’t judge those who don’t see things through your jaundiced eye.

  • yankeepizzabaker

One more thing to Crazy….you truly, TRULY, have an appropriate blog name.

  • yankeepizzabaker

Seriously, I don’t think you have to worry about that. As all of the “wackos” in this Country seem to gravitate towards the City by The Sea…..it is only a matter of time before that happens. The only thing that bothers me is the two or three normal people left out there will go with them.

  • yankeepizzabaker

One more thing Kelly…..damn you and your boyfriend of 16 freaking years…..wow…that must be a record in your family…..ever heard of marriage?

  • yankeepizzabaker

Scotsman……man you are the “real deal.” Had the whanker’s collar pulled back up…..how much did that cost you? Have you thought about using the name of “The Fonz?”

  • Dr. Pretentious

Speaking from (well hung) experience, circumcision is perfectly ok as long as you don’t do it on yourself without anesthetic. If you insist on doing so, at least make sure to dunk your dong in your glass of beer for a few minutes afterwards – it cauterizes the wound and is surprisingly relieving.

  • yankeepizzabaker

Doc…..glad you are back here. I totally agree….and they should not use a sharp stone….nor have their friend gnaw the foreskin off. I understand that Kim Karhdashian did that to one of her boyfriends….he now goes by the name of Lindsay Lohan.

  • CC

As a mother who had her son circumsized after polling my male friends……and as a woman who has been married to one UNcircumsized man who opted, later in life, to be circumsized, and to two (okay now, no cracks about multi-marriages) men who WERE circumsized……I think I made the right choice. So there.

  • CC

……and by the way, it wasnt a decision I took lightly and without sufficient thought.

  • Coen Fan

I got it done for medical reasons and as I have no religious reasons for it I can only say that it was the right move and I have absolutely no regrets.nnSurely with all the crap going down around the planet there are more important things for these people to get excited about, it’s only a bit of skin, what next? Save the appendix?

  • sneib

People are circumcised because: (1) It’s a religious thing; and (2) For hygienic purposes.

  • Cusp96

If i have a son he won’t be circumsized as a newborn. If he decides later in life that he wants the procedure done then I’d fully support his decision. I just think it’s really fucked up to permanently and significantly alter someones body when they have absolutely no understanding or say in the matter.

  • Wizkid

WOW!!u00a0 You drink your beer a LOT hotter than I do!u00a0 Mine isu00a0way too cold to cauterize anything.u00a0 It might, however aenesthetize and act as a relatively poor anti-bacterial.u00a0 nHeck – better just to DRINK the beer firstu00a0
