Republican enchantress Sarah Palin and reality television guru Mark Burnett are currently pitching a TV series to various networks about the bespectacled ex-governor’s home state of Alaska.

Sadly, "Hot, Crazy, and Armed to the Teeth" will not be the title. Nor will the show feature Sarah and her ample-bosomed daughter Bristol rocking tube tops and tracking moose with modified assault rifles. The show will instead focus on Palin traveling throughout the state speaking with locals about their lives in Alaska. Sounds interesting … if the paint you’re watching has already dried.

Numbers

24.6

Suicides per 100,000 people, making Alaska the state with the highest suicide rate in the US.

We’re pretty sure the lack of sunlight and all that snow has nothing to do with it.

mukluks

noun.     Warm knee-high fur boots popular in Alaska.

Used in a sentence:  In spite of being furry, soft, and warm, the odor of Tina’s mukluks were a turn-off for Nanook.

Fact

In 1867, United States Secretary of State William H. Seward offered Russia two cents per acre—roughly $7,200,000—for Alaska. Russia agreed, and on October 18, 1867, Alaska officially became the property of the United States. Many Americans later jokingly referred to Alaska as "Seward’s folly." In truth, a nice move, as 20% of the oil produced in the US comes from Alaska.

The List

Nice Try! (Mark Burnett’s Busts)

The Restaurant (2003) Chef Rocco opens a restaurant. Yep, that was the show! We lost our appetite. Twelve episodes.
The Casino (2004) Two millionaire dot-com cats buy a casino. The rich get richer … and painfully staged. Thirteen episodes.
On the Lot (2007) Aspiring filmmakers compete for a development deal. The commercials were more enjoyable than the show. Sixteen episodes.
My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad (2008) Dads battle it out for playground bragging rights, with the losing dad crushing his kid’s dreams. Eight episodes.
Amne$ia (2008) Game show where contestants have to answer questions about … themselves. Genius! Eight episodes.

Industry insiders agree that Palin’s popularity and Burnett’s reputation are the major factors in this pitch. But as a NY Times bestselling author and an analyst on Fox News, could this be Palin-overkill?

One thing is certain: we can never get tired of the mouth watering libations from The Alaskan Brewing, Co.
